Jason’s Journey in Helping Others Be Successful

For nearly two years at TransWest, you can find Jason all over our Seattle yard. Jason has recently grown in his career, from a Driver Instructor to a Training Supervisor! He’s been helping drivers train and improve their skillset since 2021. Previously, Jason spent 10 years at a large national transportation company as a driver where he noted he was “treated as just a number” and “felt difficult to find personal life balance”. With that experience, he was able to join us as an instructor, evolving into the unique culture, and growing into leadership at TransWest.

In his role, Jason notes it’s not always perfect - as learning isn’t always perfect. “Sometimes, when someone is struggling to learn or do something, I feel like I’ve failed them…” he noted, “But then, I have to remind myself that you only grow from your mistakes.”

One day, he approached his supervisor, Kim, about a difficult moment. She supported him through it and handed him a sticker he continues to wear and preach proudly that says, ‘Don’t trip over something that is behind you.’

We’re incredibly grateful to have Jason on our team now, helping everyone grow into the career they want to build. Outside of work, Jason is a proud family man who loves spending his time outdoors adventuring or just grilling in his backyard.
